I was a high school sophomore, roaming the aisles of Best Buy when I made a discovery that would change everything for me: It was a small, standard definition Panasonic camcorder that fit right in my hand, and most importantly I had just enough cash in my pocket to take it home with me. I became a bit obsessive with it, taking it everywhere I went; my friends and family became accustomed to a lens in their face, while I documented the benign existence of our day to day lives. The footage I captured was shaky, grainy, charming at best. What I take with me to this day though, is my love for capturing the world through my lens.

I am self taught. My film school was YouTube, my mentors, and most influentially, being in the field. Working as a production assistant for a reality show was my first “real job” out of college. To the dismay of every cameraman on our crew, I incessantly picked their brains to gather all the information I could about equipment, production practices, and the craft of shooting and editing. That’s when my obsession for cameras, lenses, editing, and storytelling really took off.

Since then I have worked at all ends of the production spectrum, from editing to producing, to shooting, to serving as a creative director for corporate and private clients alike. We all have stories to tell. That’s what inspired me to pick up that little camcorder all those years ago in the first place.
